Susan Wojcicki
Susan Diane Wojcicki
Former CEO of YouTube
Susan Wojcicki served as YouTube's CEO from 2014 to 2023, overseeing its growth into the world's dominant video platform with over 2 billion logged-in users per month. She was one of Google's earliest employees — Google's founders actually rented her garage to start the company in 1998. She pushed YouTube into live streaming, Shorts, and monetisation tools that allowed millions of creators to earn a living from their content, effectively inventing the creator economy as we know it. She stepped down in 2023 after nearly a decade leading the platform.
Fun fact
Wojcicki rented her garage to Larry Page and Sergey Brin when Google was just a startup in 1998. She later joined Google as employee number 16 — and eventually ran the company they built inside her home.
